Everything you need to know about Buzzly.

General

When you sign up you will get your own personal Buzzly Number. You'll give this number to your building manager and ask them to update the phone number on your buzzer. From then on, all buzzer calls will be sent through Buzzly. Easy, right?

A Buzzly Number is a special, local telephone number and is needed to connect your buzzer to the Buzzly system. Your number is unique to you and not shared with anyone else. This number is only used by your buzzer; set it and forget it.

Buzzly works with any buzzer that normally calls a phone - which is most buzzers in North America. If your buzzer dials a number, Buzzly can work with it.

Buzzly is available in Canada and the United States, except the Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Alaska.

Absolutely not! Buzzly is cloud based and requires no hardware, hammers, drills, wires, or mistakes.

Just one thing: ask your building manager to update the phone number on your buzzer to your Buzzly Number. Most buildings do it the same day. We'll even help you write that email.

Not unless you want to brag about how smart your buzzer is. Setup is as simple as changing the buzzer phone number on file with your building manager, and your buzzer will appear to behave normally to your guests. After all, nobody wants to be greeted by a robot.

Never as a private number, and that's on purpose. If your building's buzzer calls from a regular number, we pass it straight through, so it looks exactly like your building calling you directly. If your buzzer calls from a private number, we show your Buzzly Number instead. Either way you get a real number on screen, so your phone's spam blocker won't send your front door to voicemail.

Sure is! We use the same encryption as your bank to ensure use of the Buzzly Dashboard is secure. Buzzly also logs every buzz that comes through and will email you any time a Scheduled Access Period or Virtual Fob is used to gain access. You can also set Buzzly to reject any incoming call that doesn't come from your building's buzzer.

There are a few buzzer apps out there, and honestly, some are pretty neat. Here's the difference: Buzzly is our craft, not our side project. We've been making buzzers smarter since 2018, and we work hard to keep it simple: you'll know exactly what you're getting, what it costs, and how to set it up in minutes. Buzzly is designed to explain itself as you go, and if you ever do want a hand, a real person is always within reach. Your front door deserves that kind of reliability.

Pricing & Billing

Absolutely. You can upgrade anytime from your dashboard, and the changes kick in right away.

Nope. You can choose to subscribe to a monthly or annual plan. If you don't want to renew after the month or year you purchased is up, we'll miss you, but no problem.

All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) processed securely via Stripe.

Buzztime limits help make sure Buzzly is used for what it's built for: apartment and condo buzzers, not as a call forwarding service. That being said, almost nobody goes over their allotment, but in the unlikely event you do, overage is just 5¢/unit.

Your service continues uninterrupted. Overage units are billed at $0.05/unit on your next invoice.

Hosts & Short-Term Rentals

Buzzly works with any buzzer that normally calls a phone - which is most buzzers in North America. If your buzzer dials a number, Buzzly can work with it.

No. Nothing at all. For Scheduled Access, guests just buzz like normal - Buzzly handles the rest automatically. For Virtual Fobs, guests tap a link in their phone's browser. No app, no account, no setup.

You can add a Buzzly Number for each unit and manage them all from one account. Each number has its own plan and settings.

Both the Home and Social plans include Virtual Fobs and Scheduled Access for automated guest entry, starting from $6/mo. Home gives you one-time scheduled access, which is perfect for setting a specific check-in window for each guest's stay. Social adds recurring weekly schedules (great for cleaners or regular visitors), plus more forwarding numbers and Buzztime.

The App

Yes! Buzzly is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and on Google Play for Android. You can also use the full dashboard in any browser, so the app is a convenience, not a requirement.

No. It's included with every plan, on iPhone, iPad, and Android. Just sign in with the account you already have and everything is where you left it.

Totally fine, whatever's easiest for you. Your dashboard does everything on the web that it does in the app (except push notifications, of course), and it's built for a phone screen too.

Never. A Virtual Fob is a plain link that opens in any browser, and scheduled access asks nothing of your guest at all.

Yep. Same app, same push notifications, same account. Grab it from Google Play, sign in, and everything is right where you left it.

No. Your buzzer calls your Buzzly Number and we forward it to the phones you've added, so a buzz comes in as a normal phone call, app or not. Virtual Fobs and schedules are what open the door automatically, and you can set those up from the app or the web.
